2nd EC Money Laundering Directive hits home and how Timeframe provided a simple solution for Punta Hunta Users

With the sudden announcement of the new guest ID compliance legislation our clients became immediately aware of the increased workload this would create on the Reception process due to the need to take positive ID from all guests before they were allowed entry into the Casino.

They also recognised the knock on effect it would have on the Casino as a whole, such as the probability of having to turn away regular members because their guests were not carrying any ID, the increased registration times for members, a reduction in attendance and the potential for losing valuable customers with the inevitable loss in restaurant and gaming income.

This was obviously of great concern to our clients so they turned to us to advise on a solution to these issues.

It was immediately obvious to us that we had to speed up the process of registering and taking positive ID for guests. This would then reduce the impact the new legislation would have on the registration process and the Casino as a whole. The solution we proposed was to upgrade from standard postal address validation software to Electoral Roll Software supplied by AFD called Names & Numbers.

How has this helped our Punta Hunta™ clients?

Well, as the Electoral Roll software validates a person against their address, our clients are not reliant on guests presenting a form of ID as proof of address (normally a driving licence or utility bill, neither of which are regularly carried around) and all that is required is proof of name and signature, for example a debit or credit card which most people do carry around.

Even without a Postcode, the powerful search capability of Names & Numbers can very quickly locate the address of a guest simply by entering the surname and part of the address.

Names & Numbers is not just a database from the official Electoral Roll but is also regularly updated by telephone service providers and by the Royal Mail, so it also maintains changes of address.

Right from the implementation of this new legislation our clients have been able to positively identify a guest instead of having to turn them away and are more easily able to retain members and overall attendance in the Casino thereby maximising their potential for restaurant and gaming income.

Although our clients benefit from full integration with both Postcode and Electoral Roll Software, it is not essential in order to benefit from the functionality of Electoral Roll Software as it can be used as a stand-alone product. Can AFD Names & Numbers also help you?
